Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in a pediatric urgent care setting and assists with patient care under physician supervision. Key responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining medical history and vital signs, preparing patients for X-rays, performing routine labs, maintaining exam room supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of the waiting area. The role requires effective communication and organizational skills, along with a professional demeanor and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children
- Experience with medical records
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
