Job Summary

Assess and treat acute injury and illness for in-person and telemedicine patients, including febrile infants, respiratory distress, and anaphylaxis. Perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair. Take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x-rays with official over-reads. Oversee patient flow and daily office functions, including lab and radiology result review, while maintaining safe, secure, and compliant operations. Manage complaints and service recovery to improve patient experience and efficiency metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Pediatric experience
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Master of Physician Assistant Studies
  • Active ANCC Board Certification or NCCPA Certification
  • Active RN (if applicable) and NP/PA state license for each state where treating patients
  • Ability to critically think
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
  • Weekend-only opportunity
  • Preferred schedule of two back-to-back 12-hour shifts

Desired Qualifications

  • Pediatric ER, Pediatric Hospitalist, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience
  • eCW experience
  • Ability to assess and treat acute injury and illness for both in-person and telemedicine patients
  • Ability to perform procedural care including abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, and dermal adhesive
  • Ability to take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x-rays with official radiology over-reads
  • Ability to oversee in-person and telemedicine patient flow and daily functions of the office along with oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift
  • Ability to maintain operations by following policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in conjunction with the onsite and telemedicine teams
  • Ability to maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to update knowledge and skills through internal training program, continuing education opportunities, professional publications and participation in professional organizations
  • Ability to assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed
  • Ability to focus on efficiency metrics to improve in-person and telemedicine urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience
