Job Summary
Conduct inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage for the pediatric heart failure/transplantation/mechanical support population, sharing duties with three existing faculty members. Manage general pediatric cardiology clinic services and participate in heart failure/transplantation/cardiomyopathy clinics. Coordinate care for patients referred through the Virginia Congenital Cardiac Consortium, which directs highest complexity cases to UVA Children's Hospital. Work alongside dedicated nurse practitioners and congenital heart surgeons in a top-ranked program performing approximately 10 pediatric cardiac transplants annually.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- board certified in Pediatric Cardiology
- completed a year of additional formal training in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support
- recognized as a transplant physician by UNOS
Desired Qualifications
- Training and experience at an institution with a high performing congenital heart surgery and transplant program
