Job Summary
Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon sought to support St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities include collaborating with other pediatric providers to determine surgical necessity, managing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care, and balancing patient appointments with OR time. Procedures may include appendectomy, biopsy, pyloric stenosis, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, I&D, device implants (gtube, VAD, etc.), tracheotomy, exploratory laparoscopy, and bowel resections. The surgeon will receive referrals from internal pediatric programs and participate in growth initiatives and educational activities such as Family Residency program involvement and Pediatric Roundtable lectures. Schedule features a Monday–Friday workweek with OR block time and clinic time, a 1:3 call schedule, and inpatient consults. Required Qualifications
- Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon
- MD or equivalent medical degree
- Pediatric surgery board certification
