Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and facility policies. Administers medications, treatments, and interventions; monitors patient progress and identifies acute changes or behavioral crises. Collaborates with physicians, therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educates patients and families on disease management, medications, and coping strategies. Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed. Communicates clearly with families and the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care. Maintains accurate documentation in the EHR per hospital policy and Texas BON guidelines. Follows infection control and patient safety standards and participates in quality improvement and ongoing competency development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required within 30 days from hire date
- PALS certification required within 30 days from hire date
- De-escalation training required within 30 days of hire
