Job Summary
Summary: Functions in an independent and professional manner to provide high-quality, trauma informed, psychological services to inpatients, outpatients and their families. Schedule includes Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM with one day remote. Responsibilities include applying therapeutic techniques for children, adolescents, and families (individual, family, group therapy; crisis intervention), consultation/liaison services, developing diagnostic/programs, DSM-5/ICD-10/DC:0-5 diagnoses, conducting intake assessments, administering tests, and producing treatment plans. Teaching responsibilities encompass supervision of interns, externs and post-doctoral fellows, education/training programs, and involvement in recruitment. Direct patient/family contact expected to comprise at least 70% of work. Licensure in Illinois required or eligible within 90 days. Requires expertise in evidence-based models (CBT, TF-CBT, ARC, CPP, MI, SFBT, play therapy) and experience with chronically ill children and abuse victims. Emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and program development.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical (child or pediatric) Psychology
- Related Work Experience: APA internship in child or pediatric psychology and must have training/experience in pediatric health psychology
- Licensure/Certification: Current Illinois Registration/licensure in Clinical Psychology or eligible and able to attain within 90 days of hire
- CPR required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted
