Job Summary
Pediatric Pharmacist responsible for functional supervision of pharmacy technicians in a hospital setting. Communicates with internal and external customers, maintains HIPAA confidentiality, and supports department financial goals through effective inventory control. Applies sound, evidence-based clinical judgment. Works in the pharmacy and patient-care areas, collaborating closely with others. Role is fast-paced with potential for long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Potential exposure to harmful biological and chemical agents and cytotoxic substances.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
- Experience: ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency or three years of previous clinical pharmacy experience in a relevant care setting
- Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia required within 90 days of hire; current Virginia pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure; ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency required; PGY2 in Pediatrics or equivalent pediatric experience preferred
