Job Summary
Pediatric Physician Assistant in the Special Care Nursery and Newborn Nursery providing high-acuity neonatal care in a collaborative academic-affiliated setting. Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, admitting/managing infants in the SCN with daily rounds and procedures, covering well baby admissions and daily notes, and participating in Pediatric Codes and trauma responses in the ED. Required procedures include intubation, umbilical arterial/venous catheterization, IV placement, lumbar punctures, and urinary catheterization. 24/7/365 coverage in Waterbury, CT at Waterbury Hospital/UConn Health.
Required Qualifications
- Attend high-risk deliveries
- Admit and manage infants in the SCN through daily rounds and procedures
- Provide coverage for well babies in the Well Baby Nursery, including admissions and daily notes
- Participate in Pediatric Codes and trauma responses in the Emergency Department
- Intubation
- Umbilical artery and vein catheterization
- IV placement
- Lumbar punctures
- Urinary catheterization
