Job Summary
Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat injuries, diseases, and disabilities using occupational therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard practices. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver quality, patient-centered care. Conduct evaluations and treatments according to professional standards, developing care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments. Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high-quality care. Maintain thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies, completing patient billing accurately and promptly. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a potential 4/10 schedule and no weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license in states where you work
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Basic Computer skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting
- Current driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Acceptable driving record
- Competent Services: Provides skilled occupational therapy services in an outpatient setting
- Conducts evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (AOTA)
- Develops care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments
- Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies
- Completes patient billing accurately and promptly
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers
- Manages all aspects of patient care and education
- Supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students
- See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care
- Accessing needed information
- Medication preparation
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Potential 4/10 schedule
- No weekends
