Job Summary
Conduct pediatric medical surgical nursing care for a mixed adult and pediatric patient population using BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and central pulse ox monitoring. Provide night shift coverage with 12-hour shifts three times weekly, supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy, house supervision, and an intensivist available within 10 minutes overnight. Maintain eligibility through a North Carolina or compact license, NCI credentialing, and required certifications including PALS, ACLS, and BLS. Submit only for travel assignments requiring residence over 75 miles from the facility, with no call rotation and holiday rotation included in the schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience
- Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license
- Travel only, local not allowed
- Candidates must live >75 miles from facility
- COVID vaccination required
- 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern
- no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern
- Experience caring for adults and pediatrics
- NCI required
- Medication exam required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- Proof of identification required
