Job Summary
Safely transport medically fragile children enrolled in the PPEC program to and from their homes, assist with loading, securing, and unloading using specialized equipment, and maintain a warm, reassuring presence during transit. Monitor and respond to emergencies in transit alongside a licensed medical professional; complete transportation documentation and follow detailed schedules. Perform end-of-route vehicle checks and communicate updates to families and center staff; collaborate with the transport coordinator to address delays or challenges on routes. Requires a medical background (EMT, RT, LPN, or Paramedic), valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and preferred CDL/chauffeur license; experience with children’s medical needs is preferred. 18+ years old (21 preferred). Flexible daytime, part-time weekday shifts in the Metairie/New Orleans area. Required Qualifications
- Medical background preferred: EMT, Respiratory Therapist (RT), LPN, or Paramedic
- Valid driver’s license
- Chauffeur’s License or CDL (preferred)
- CPR certification
- Experience in caring for children, particularly those with medical needs (preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years preferred)
