Pediatric LPN Clinic Nurse

Job Summary
Deliver direct patient care including IV therapy within the Pediatric Clinic under RN direction. Utilize the nursing process for data gathering, planning, and evaluation while managing physical and psycho-social needs of pediatric patients. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care and adapt to rapid changes in unit needs. Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and required credentials including BLS certification. Manage personal professional development and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self-directed
- Demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care
- Ability to adapt to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day
- Ability to manage personal professional development
- Ability to maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials
- Ability to remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
- Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
- Ability to report patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns
- Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
- Ability to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
- Ability to work at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials
- Ability to work in an area where patients enter
- Ability to work directly with patients
- Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Ability to handle exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Ability to handle exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
- Ability to receive, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste
