Pediatric Hospitalist

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate diagnostic and treatment skills while adhering to clinical patient pathways to standardize pediatric medicine. Accepts referrals from other physicians to admit, attend, or consult for hospitalized patients, participating in inpatient rounds and providing hand-offs to the next team. Recommends efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care, acting as the primary educator for pediatric residents. Provides documentation meeting insurance requirements and appeals denials timely. This role supports Nemours Children's Health at the region's only children's hospital, a 566-bed facility within Ascension Sacred Heart. The team utilizes Cerner EMR and includes a dedicated residency program training pediatricians since 1970.
