Job Summary
Pediatric Dentist responsible for providing comprehensive dental and oral health services to pediatric patients at Sea Mar Community Health Centers. Responsibilities include practicing dentistry ethically under the Washington Dental Act, supervising non-dentist staff, maintaining BLS/PALS/ACLS certifications or equivalents, ensuring aseptic care and patient safety, staying current with industry standards, coordinating referrals when needed, utilizing appropriate procedure codes, supporting quality improvement activities, and promoting community oral health. The role operates under the Dental Director with assigned productivity standards and may involve participation in clinic activities and infection control protocols. Qualifications include DDS/DMD or equivalent, a valid Washington dental license, pediatric dentistry residency, DEA certificate, and ongoing BLS CPR. The position may require staging for sedation and adherence to health and safety requirements, with full-time/part-time scheduling nuances and lifecycle benefits for eligible employees.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed formal dental school and hold Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD)
- Current and valid dental license to practice in the State of Washington
- Pediatric Dentistry residency completed; board certification or eligibility as applicable
- DEA Certificate (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR required within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter
- Pre-hire and annual health screenings including annual influenza vaccine; TB test per policy; exposure to COVID-19 vaccination as mandated by organization
- Ability to supervise and administer conscious sedation per regulatory standards
- Ability to meet productivity standards and participate in quality improvement activities
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Read, analyze and interpret scientific/journal articles and regulatory documents
- Effective patient care and safety practices
- Provide dental services under supervision and coordinate patient care as needed
- Standards adherence to Washington Dental Act and related regulations
