Job Summary
Pediatric Dentist needed to provide comprehensive dental care for infants to adolescents, including patients with special healthcare needs, in a Mobile, AL pediatric practice. Responsibilities include reviewing medical/dental histories, conducting pediatric examinations, diagnosing and treating cavities, early childhood caries, and gum disease; developing age-appropriate treatment plans; performing restorative and preventive procedures (fillings, sealants, fluoride, space maintainers); using behavior management and anxiety-reduction techniques; performing surgical/advanced procedures (extractions, pulp therapy); prescribing medications as needed; educating children and parents on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care; monitoring growth and development with appropriate orthodontic referrals; maintaining patient records per regulatory standards. Qualifications require a DDS/DMD, pediatric dentistry residency, Alabama licensure or eligibility, knowledge of pediatric anatomy/growth, experience with anxious/special needs patients, and strong communication and compassionate care. Required Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program
- Active Alabama dental license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Alabama
- Strong knowledge of pediatric dental anatomy, growth, and development
- Experience treating pediatric patients, including those with anxiety or special needs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with children and parents
