Job Summary
Full-Time Pediatric Counselor in Yokosuka, Japan. Conduct clinical intakes, bio-psycho-social assessments, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioral management. Provide parent coaching and family consultation to support the child’s progress outside of sessions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (OTs, SLPs, and ABA Therapists) to ensure holistic care. Maintain clinical documentation and patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA standards. Requires Master’s or Doctorate in a mental health field, licensure to practice independently, and English fluency; relocation sponsorship and visa support provided. Position offers relocation allowance, housing support, paid leave, sick leave, CEU access, and enrollment in Japanese social insurance and pension programs.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work (LCSW), or related mental health field from an accredited institution
- Experience working with children is required
- Native or professional English fluency
- Valid, unrestricted state or national license to practice independently (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or Registered Psychologist)
- Proof of licensure and a clean disciplinary record
