Job Summary
Pediatric Clinical Development Medical Director leads field-based pediatric site engagement across the United States to accelerate pediatric program delivery. Responsibilities include providing pediatric medical and clinical expertise for protocol design, eligibility, safety, and feasibility; serving as the medical point of contact for investigator inquiries; coordinating with Global Development Leads and study clinicians to execute pediatric site engagement for IM pediatric programs (initially focused on the pediatric rimegepant portfolio); identifying and evaluating pediatric clinical sites (children’s hospitals, pediatric networks) to support feasibility and enrollment; driving U.S.-based site engagement (virtual and in-person) to improve site readiness and performance; accelerating startup by resolving barriers and supporting recruitment optimization; providing rapid field-informed issue resolution for site problems; maintaining relationships with pediatric investigators and institutions; and representing Pfizer Internal Medicine Clinical Development in the pediatric site community. The role operates as a fully field-based, travel-heavy position not anchored to a Pfizer office, emphasizing site impact and study delivery over office presence. The candidate should have a medical degree (MD/DO) with pediatric training, relevant pediatric clinical trial experience, and the ability to work independently in a matrixed environment, with significant domestic travel and strong collaboration skills. Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with 4 years+ relevant experience
- Completion of pediatric residency training and/or subspecialty training relevant to pediatric populations
