Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations by reviewing medical history, laboratory results, and medications to assess risks and develop individualized anesthesia care plans. Administer general, regional, local, and sedation techniques, including spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks, while inducing and maintaining anesthesia for surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures. Monitor physiological responses, adjust anesthetic levels, and manage difficult airways or rapid sequence intubation as needed. Provide post-anesthesia care, ensure safe emergence, and educate patients and families on the process, risks, and recovery expectations. Respond to code situations with emergency airway management and resuscitative efforts. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other providers to ensure seamless perioperative care. Participate in teaching and mentoring nurse anesthesia students, residents, or newly hired CRNAs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Registered Nurse licensure
- CRNA certification
- Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists certification
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- ACLS certification
