Job Summary
Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU/PICU setting, organizing and implementing individualized, family-centered care plans, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and participating in CHSU initiatives and process improvement. Requires a BSN (within 24 months of hire), active Texas RN license or compact license, and ACLS/BCLS/PALS within specified times; CHSU/PICUCHD experience and CCRN are preferred. The role emphasizes high-quality age-specific care across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations with potential for a $10k sign-on for qualified candidates. Minimum 1 year PICU/CHSU RN experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- BSN Required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license is required
Desired Qualifications
- CCRN preferred
- Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU experience preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- CHSU initiatives participation
- BSN Required within 24 months of hire
