Job Summary
Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse providing direct patient care for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and/or post-surgical CHSU care. Responsible for organizing, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized, family-centered plans of care; maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment; participating in CHSU initiatives and process improvement; delivering high-quality age-specific care across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations; and aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Requires completion of accredited nursing education, Texas RN license (or compact), BSN within 24 months, ACLS, BLS, PALS within designated timelines, and CHSU/PICU experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- BSN Required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of employment start date
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
- CCRN preferred
- Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU experience preferred
- Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience
