Job Summary
Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse providing direct patient care for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and/or following surgery. Responsibilities include organizing, implementing, modifying, evaluating, documenting and maintaining individualized, family-centered care plans, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and participating in CHSU initiatives and process improvement. The role emphasizes high-quality age-specific care across neonatal to young adult populations, supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- BSN Required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license is required
- CCRN preferred
- Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU experience is preferred
- Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience
