Job Summary
Locum tenens pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon needed to provide 24/7 call coverage with weekend call one weekend per month starting August 2026 at an on-site facility in Opelousas, LA. Responsibilities include emergent surgical needs including ECMO cannulation in the CICU or NICU for VA ECMO, performing cardiac procedures, and bedside ECMO cannulations with support from a dedicated CVOR team (scrub, RN, FA). Case load approximately 20 per month. On-site OR with dedicated CVOR resources; 24/7 call while on assignment; patient population is children. Board certification is negotiable. Location is Opelousas, Louisiana, US.
Required Qualifications
- MD degree
- Board certification negotiable
- Pediatric cardiothoracic surgery training or fellowship
- On-site surgical experience with CVOR team
- Call coverage experience
- Pediatric patient population experience
