Job Summary
Provide patient care in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery while adhering to Professional Staff Bylaws and Children's policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and integrate research findings into clinical practice. Serve as a resource for patient, family, and staff education, and assist trainees with medical decision-making. Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered and ensure timely communication for patient care and reimbursement. Respond to clinical staff questions and requests, and attend required meetings to support clinical area operations. Complete and maintain specialty certifications such as BLS, PALS, or NALS as mandated by the assigned area. Perform other responsibilities as required by the Division.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school
- Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Surgery or Thoracic Surgery
- Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
- BLS or PALS certification
- Current DEA registration
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member

- Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option
