Job Summary
Pediatric Cardiologist with a focus on heart transplant and advanced heart failure sought to join the Phoenix Children’s Division of Cardiology as a full-time faculty member (Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor). The role involves inpatient and outpatient patient care, subspecialty consultations and follow-up, and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures for transplant and heart failure patients within a multidisciplinary program. Collaboration with NP transplant coordinators, a VAD coordinator, and other specialists is expected, with opportunities for clinical and translational research and teaching of fellows, residents, medical students, and nurses. Responsibilities include supervision of trainees, participation in rounds and conferences, supporting education programs, and engagement in programmatic and research activities. Candidates should demonstrate strong academic focus with potential for collaboration with affiliated medical schools and research institutes. Essential requirements include an MD or equivalent, ABP Pediatric Cardiology certification/eligibility, Arizona medical licensure eligibility, and completed pediatric cardiology fellowship with advanced heart failure/transplant subspecialty training; prior teaching and research involvement is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
- Completed an ACGME-accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- Additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure including management of cardiac transplant patients and mechanical circulatory support
