Job Summary
Provide direct patient care services for heart transplant and advanced heart failure patients on inpatient and outpatient bases, including subspecialty consultations, follow-ups, and urgent/emergent procedures. Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees while supervising allied health professionals. Support divisional research initiatives, programmatic growth, and medical education activities. Represent the Division of Cardiology in the medical and business communities as a liaison to the professional community and general public. Perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
- Completed an ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- Additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure
- Experience in management of cardiac transplant patients
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support
- Ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other communication devices
- Ability to perform after hours or night call responsibilities as needed
- Ability to work regularly scheduled work hours
