Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for heart transplant and advanced heart failure patients on inpatient and outpatient bases, including subspecialty consultations, urgent/emergent services, and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences to supervise trainees and allied health professionals across the division's medical education programs. Support research endeavors and programmatic growth while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in nutrition, pharmacy, and social work. Represent the division in the medical community and fulfill after-hours call responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
- Completed an ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- Additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure
- Experience in management of cardiac transplant patients
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support
- Ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other communication devices
- Ability to perform after hours or night call responsibilities as needed
- Ability to work regularly scheduled work hours
