Job Summary
Provide patient care as part of the Advanced Heart Failure - Cardiac Transplant Team, serving inpatient and outpatient pediatric patients with heart failure and transplant needs. Role includes direct patient care, subspecialty consultations, diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, and participation in an interdisciplinary environment with NP transplant coordinators, a VAD coordinator, and other professionals. Academic duties include teaching rounds, supervision of trainees, and participation in scholarly activities with opportunities for clinical or translational research, collaborations with multiple medical schools and research institutes. The program supports a broad pediatric/adult device program, and affiliated research partnerships with tGen, ASU, and others. The division emphasizes education of fellows, residents, medical students, and nurses, with a focus on family-centered care, safety, and outcomes in pediatric cardiology and heart failure. The clinical site includes Phoenix Children’s Hospital and affiliated centers, with a mission to advance heart care for children and families.
Required Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree
- board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
- eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
- completed an ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure including management of cardiac transplant patients and mechanical circulatory support
