Job Summary
Pediatric Cardiologist at Phoenix Children's Division of Cardiology sought for up to 2 full-time faculty positions at the Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Child Health levels. The program performs 12-15 pediatric heart transplants annually, follows heart failure patients inpatient and outpatient, and supports a mechanical circulatory support program. The successful applicant will join a transplant team with three physicians, five NP transplant coordinators, a VAD coordinator, and a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include direct inpatient/outpatient patient care, subspecialty consultations, diagnostics and therapeutics, teaching and supervision of trainees, participation in clinical and translational research, and collaboration with affiliated medical schools and research institutes. Candidates should have MD or equivalent, be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology, and be eligible for Arizona medical licensure. Academic appointments facilitated with multiple medical schools; program includes fellowship training and a range of subspecialty fellowships. Location is the Phoenix metropolitan area with inpatient pediatric and adult congenital services housed at multiple Phoenix facilities.
Required Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree
- board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
- eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
- completed ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure including management of cardiac transplant patients and mechanical circulatory support
- academic focus preferably in clinical and/or translational research (basic science opportunities available)
- ability to collaborate with affiliated institutions (University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and Tucson, Creighton University School of Medicine, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine - Scottsdale)
