Job Summary

Pediatric Cardiologist for Heart Transplant and Advanced Heart Failure program sought to join as full-time faculty at Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor level. Responsibilities include direct inpatient/outpatient patient care for heart transplant and heart failure patients, subspecialty consultations, and teaching/education of fellows, residents, students, and nurses. Collaborative role within a multidisciplinary team (including NP transplant coordinators, VAD coordinator, nutrition, pharmacy, social work, and psychology) with opportunities for clinical/ translational research and academic appointments at partner medical schools. Will participate in program development, quality of care, and maintain contemporary evidence-based practice while supporting divisional goals and teaching rounds, rounds, conferences, and research activities. Requirements include MD or equivalent, board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology, AZ medical licensure eligibility, and completion of a pediatric cardiology fellowship with advanced heart failure/subspecialty training and experience in transplant patient management and mechanical circulatory support. The program is associated with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, with potential collaborations across University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix/Tucson, Creighton University School of Medicine, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, and research partners, and provides both inpatient and ambulatory cardiology services for transplant and heart failure. The role involves patient care, education, research, and professional service within a large pediatric cardiology division.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree
  • board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics
  • eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona
  • completed an ACGME accredited 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology with additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure including management of cardiac transplant patients and mechanical circulatory support
