Job Summary
Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon sought to join UVA Children's Hospital's congenital heart program in Charlottesville, VA. Responsibilities include all aspects of clinical care for the congenital cardiac populations and collaboration with Dr. James Gangemi in a busy, comprehensive congenital heart program. The role offers opportunities for involvement in basic science, translational, and clinical research, as well as support for education. The division has extensive program breadth including neonatal surgery, fetal cardiology, pediatric heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, with a dedicated pediatric cardiac ICU and a strong national reputation; an ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and interest in research and education.
Required Qualifications
- MD (MD)
- Board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS)
- ABTS Certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery
- Strong clinical background in complex neonatal heart surgery, pediatric heart transplantation, and pediatric mechanical circulatory support
- Ability to engage in research and education and support for basic science and translational research
