Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions while counseling patients and families on treatment options and community resources. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients, then provide direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referral. Document delivery of cardiac critical health care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students, and engage in discharge planning for cardiac critical care conditions. Requires Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialing with prescriptive authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care, experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
