Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Counsel families on treatment options and community resources while documenting care delivery in accordance with network nursing policy. Provide direct management of cardiac critical care conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals, including discharge planning. Participate in staff and student orientation and education. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment within a multi-disciplinary team, addressing sensitive information with confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
