Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and ordering diagnostic studies. Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and families on treatment options and community resources while managing cardiac critical care conditions with prescriptive authority. Document care delivery in accordance with network nursing policy and participate in staff and student orientation. Engage in discharge planning and collaborate with supervising physicians and a multi-disciplinary team. Requires Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care and experience in pediatric complex heart disease.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
