Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions through observation, interview, and examination while ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and their families on treatment options and community resources, then provide direct management via prescriptive authority or referral. Document cardiac critical care delivery in accordance with network policy and engage in discharge planning. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. This role requires a Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care, credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. Applicants must demonstrate experience caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
