Job Summary

Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and their families regarding treatment options and community resources while managing cardiac critical care conditions with prescriptive authority or referrals. Document delivery of care in accordance with network nursing policy and participate in staff and student orientation. Engage in discharge planning and work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide individualized healthcare services.

Required Qualifications

  • Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
  • Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
  • Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
  • Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
  • Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
