Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions through history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Counsel patients and families on treatment options, community resources, and discharge planning while documenting care in accordance with network nursing policy. Provide direct management of cardiac critical care conditions using prescriptive authority or referrals, and participate in orientation and education for staff and students. Requires an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care and experience in complex congenital heart disease. Salary starts at $122,000.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
