Job Summary
Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and families on conditions, treatments, and community resources while documenting critical care delivery per network policy. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for pediatric cardiac critical care patients. Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac conditions via prescriptive authority or referral, including discharge planning. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. Requires Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, Texas Board of Nursing credentialing, and experience in pediatric congenital and acquired heart disease. Salary range $122,000+.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
