Job Summary
Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions through comprehensive assessments, history taking, and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and families on treatment options and community resources while managing cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral. Document delivery of cardiac critical care and nursing processes in accordance with network policy and participate in staff and student orientation. Engage in discharge planning and provide direct treatment within a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team. Requires Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentials with prescriptive authority, Texas Board of Nursing certification, and experience in pediatric cardiac critical care units. Salary range $122,000+; full-time position requiring high sensitivity and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
