Job Summary

Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions through observation, interview, examination, and diagnostic studies. Counsel heart failure and transplant patients and their families on treatment options and community resources while managing cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority. Document care delivery in accordance with network policy, engage in discharge planning, and participate in staff and student orientation. Requires a Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care and experience in complex congenital and acquired heart disease. Salary range is $122,000+ depending on qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
  • Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
  • Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
  • Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
  • Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
