Job Summary

Diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions while counseling families on treatment options and community resources. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients, then manage conditions via prescriptive authority or referrals. Document care delivery in accordance with network nursing policy and participate in staff and student orientation. Engage in discharge planning and provide direct treatment within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment. Requires prescriptive authority and experience in complex congenital and acquired heart disease.

Required Qualifications

  • Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
  • Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
  • Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
  • Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
  • Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
