Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care, partnering with supervising physicians to diagnose and treat pediatric and congenital heart conditions. Responsibilities include counseling patients and families, documenting care per standards, participating in staff education, obtaining histories and conducting assessments, ordering/interpreting diagnostic studies, providing direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referrals, and engaging in discharge planning within a multi-disciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
