Job Summary
Provide and coordinate cardiac critical care for pediatric and congenital heart conditions as part of a collaborative team with supervising physicians. Responsibilities include counseling and educating patients and families, documenting care according to standards, participating in staff and student education, obtaining and interpreting cardiac critical care history and examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, delivering direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority or referrals, and engaging in discharge planning.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
