Job Summary
Provides diagnosis and treatment of pediatric and congenital heart conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians; educates heart failure and transplant patients and families; documents delivery of cardiac critical care per standards; participates in staff and student education; assesses patient history and performs examinations; orders and interprets diagnostic studies; provides direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions with prescriptive authority or referral; engages in discharge planning; works within a multi-disciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
