Job Summary
Counsel cardiac critical care patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources while documenting care delivery in accordance with network nursing policy. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments via observation and interview, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients. Provide direct treatment and management of conditions using prescriptive authority or referrals, while engaging in discharge planning. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance, addressing individuals with high sensitivity and confidentiality as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
