Job Summary
Counsel patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment options, and community resources while documenting care delivery and nursing processes per standards. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments via observation and interview, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients. Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac conditions using prescriptive authority or referrals, including discharge planning. Participate in staff and student orientation and education. Work in a multidisciplinary team serving the regional pediatric population with experience in complex congenital and acquired heart disease.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
