Job Summary
Counsel and educate cardiac critical care patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and community resources. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments via observation and examination, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients. Provide direct treatment and management of conditions using prescriptive authority or referrals, while documenting care delivery in accordance with network nursing policy and engaging in discharge planning. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. Work within a multidisciplinary team to serve the regional pediatric population, delivering advanced pediatric cardiac critical care.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor
