Job Summary
Counsel cardiac critical care patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources while documenting care delivery and nursing processes per standards. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments via observation and examination, and order, interpret, and perform diagnostic studies for cardiac conditions. Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions using prescriptive authority or referrals, including discharge planning. Participate in staff and student orientation and education. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to serve the regional pediatric population.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor
