Job Summary
Pediatric and Fetal Cardiac Sonographer will perform and analyze Pediatric and Adult Congenital Echocardiograms, requiring extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology to ascertain diagnosis of complex congenital heart disease in pediatric and adult congenital patients; will perform these diagnostic exams and discuss findings with the pediatric cardiologist, utilizing Philips and GE ultrasound machines; responsibilities include maintaining patient records and exam data, reviewing studies, creating preliminary reports for interpreting physicians, and adhering to departmental protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound technology training program
- Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Current adult/pediatric echocardiography registry required, if registry pending, must complete appropriate registration within 12 months from date of employment
- RDCS with AE (Adult/pediatric echocardiography registry) required
- BLS Certification required
- Knowledge of complex congenital heart defects and surgical repairs
- Fetal echocardiography experience is preferred
- Required certification: RDCS with AE (Adult/pediatric echocardiography registry)
- PE (Pediatric Echo) and/or FE (Fetal Echo) strongly preferred
