Job Summary
Oversee daily cattle operations including gathering, sorting, branding, vaccinating, and shipping livestock while monitoring herd health. Supervise ranch hands and day workers by assigning schedules, training on equipment and safety, and fostering a productive team environment. Maintain fences, corrals, roads, and water systems; operate tractors, skid steers, and other ranch equipment. Monitor grazing conditions, inspect infrastructure, and respond to emergencies involving livestock, weather, or property. Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Full-time position with variable hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends; work performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of ranching experience, preferably in cattle operations
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of livestock handling and range management
- Experience operating agricultural and ranch equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Full-time position with variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions
