Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, adapting materials for diverse learning styles and special education needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and study habits while managing classroom behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct. Plan and supervise teacher aides, utilize technology to enhance instruction, and maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff. Compile required reports, attend faculty meetings, and participate in staff development activities to support student intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year student teaching or approved internship
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing
- Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
